Environmental Responsibility

I feel that it has taken an exceptionally long time to realize environmental harm and there have been liberties taken with the environmental standards in certain operations, such as the oil sands. I understand operations require the meeting of a reasonable rate of return, but how is the government truly balancing that and the needs of the environment? I believe we need to pace development, and consider the harm we are causing our planet, because otherwise a recession will no longer be our concern.

Eliminating Voter Apathy

Only 41% of Alberta’s eligible voters showed up to voice their opinion in the 2008 election, substantially below the dismal 59.1% that showed up to the polls for our last national election.

With Generation Y, a technologically saavy group, being the biggest generational cohort since the Baby Boomers to be able to vote, how can we take control of our current system, and help it evolve to get voters interested in politics again?

Do you think Edmonton’s infrastructure is far behind schedule? It took an economic recession to get the government into gear. Will the infrastructure construction blitz end, once our economy begins to re-bound?

I’m just wondering why the Our Alberta government Does Not Regulate Car Insurance? Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia have their Car Insurance Regulated by the Provincial Government and why not alberta. Not all the Albertans are Rich to afford private car insurances or this is just another way of Making people leave Alberta? At Least the Alberta Government should Do something to stop this unfairness insurances in Canada. I paid $50/month in Saskatchewan for same car that i Pay $150/month for insurance in Alberta. What does Deregulation of Car Insurance do for Government and citizens of Alberta in terms of safety? I don’t really understand, whether Deregulation profits the Alberta government or makes Albertans safe for paying more?
