WCB makes criminals of innocent Albertans
Ken Markkula | April 7, 2009Why is a corporation that is internationally connected allowed judicial power over citizens? This organization is protected by a quasi-judicial system that was meant to protect the employer, however it is being abused by WCB to commit fraud and human rights violations, where as there is no recourse of legal action. I personally have been defrauded out of over $60,000.00 by this organization, from my actions of attempting an audit of my claim, I was then charged with fraud 3 years later, through manipulation of personal and financial information, my family and I now live under the poverty line, it is written that the WCB is to provide dignity for the injured worker, the only dignity is for those that work for the organization. With I information I have sent into the Auditor Generals office and Mr.Stelmach’s office is enough to charge the common man for these crimes, Why has nothing been done? Instead my e-mails and messages are deleted before reading, is this the actions of a responsible Government?

WCB had claimed 100% of my benefits due to
Ken Markkula | April 7, 2009 | 9:20 amWCB had claimed 100% of my benefits due to the criminal charge I received since July 1st, 2007, court had not even been completed at that time, there was over $30,000.00 held back on my claim in 2001, of which WCB claimed it went to the overpayment resulting from the fraud charges against me. WCB then collected all my benefits until the monies were paid back which they claim was approx $32,000.00, it was already paid off before they charged me, from the monies that they held on to for 3 years before I was under fraud investigation. Due to WCB’s way of handling injured workers I had accumulated a maintenance enforcement bill of over $10,000.00, WCB offered me an advance that changed into a loan that changed again into an overpayment @ 12% interest. I was given a 5 year payment plan , however WCB collected the monies before the maturity of the loan, added 12% on top of the agreement and it was paid out 6 months ahead of schedule, not by my choice but by their with-holding 100% of my benefits. My family had no income, to social assistance we went, I informed them of our problem and we were given assistance until Sept 2008, at which time WCB contacted social services and informed them that I was collecting $816.00 per month. This has caused another fraud investigation against me, however at year end I received my T-5 financial report for 2008 taxes, it states I made $943.00 for the 2008 tax year. Hows that for manipulation and corruption?

If I had not experienced the abuse of power by the WCB first hand I would never have believed it!
